My Radio started through a certain level serendipity – the serendipity that seems to behind the formation of most bands. While in Southwest Virginia, singer/songwriter JP Powell (formerly of Boston-area bands Chauncey, Bleu, and My Favorite Relative), met drummer Hunter Johsnon (Justin Jones) at a coffee shop. Guitarist Brett Lemon and bassist Jeff Hoffman were enlisted to flesh out the band’s sound.

Redeye Distribution will be releasing My Radio’s Starts in the East, Falls in the West on November 27. “Bricks and Mortar,” is the latest single from their forthcoming album, and the song has elements of the melodic hard rock of the Foo Fighters, and Bloc Party (sort of) with a bridge that reminded me a helluva lot of the Fixx and other bands.

The band is touring to support the effort and they have a November 15th stop at Arlene’s Grocery, which should be pretty interesting.
