Mark Ronson was at behind the 1s and 2s for the kickoff party to celebrate the grand opening of the W Hotel in Singapore. Ronson invited Brooklyn electronic dance music act, AVAN LAVA to join him, and while there, the band played a previously unreleased cover of Ronson’s “Somebody to Love Me.” The track pays a loving homage to 90s house music – the sort of sounds you’d come across at the legendary Shelter parties.

You can probably picture yourself voguing at Webster Hall, the Limelight and others with the multitudes of people of all colors, sizes, orientations who love electronic dance music. But really makes this song a winner is that the track has a simplicity at it’s heart that isn’t lost in slick production.
