The Ocean Blue’s debut effort, released through Sire Records in 1989 was not only well-received by critics and fans, it got a ton of airplay on radio and on MTV. The band released two more albums through Sire Records before releasing albums independently in the early 1990s. The band has been on a hiatus since 2004, so Ultramarine is the band’s first (and highly anticipated) release in close to a decade, and will see a March 19th release through Korda Records.

Ultramarine is reportedly a return to form for the band, as the band draws on the bands that meant a lot to them in their 20s – the Smiths, New Order and the likes, and on “Sad Night, Where Is Morning,” the band sounds much like Substance: 1987-era New Order.
