As some of you readers will know, I spent every day over the course of a year and a half shooting anything and everything for the Black and White Project. And it was a bit of a relief to not have to shoot every day but when I wanted to and when something captured my eye.
I was in the Lower East Side and had to run to Citibank for some cash before heading to the Mercury Lounge for a show when I came across this bit of graffiti on a dumpster located between 1st Avenue and Avenue A. As I saw it, it made me wonder if shitting there was truly a problem or not. My regular bar was around the corner, and I never saw anyone shitting there – it was much more likely to see a fight. But hey, what do I know?
