La Musique Numerique (it’s French for “Digital Music”), is the forthcoming sophomore effort from the Los Angeles, CA and London, UK-based duo of AM and Shawn Lee. With this new album, the band cements their reputation for having a production style that meshes digital and analog recording techniques, and a sound that manages to be sunny, ethereal and blurs the lines between genres such as funk, dub step, reggae, and even disco. The release of the duo’s second single, and album closer is a sunny, reggae-inflected cover of Joe Jackson’s 1982 mega hit “Steppin’ Out,” which sounds as though it was released in either 1983 or in 2019. The song comes with the simultaneous news of AM and Shawn Lee’s summer tour which will have them make stops in Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC; Washington, DC; Boston, MA; the Knitting Factory on June 20th; Chicago, IL; Rochester, NY; and San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; and San Jose, CA
