The 20 year old Dutch singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Tessa Rose Jackson has made quite a name for herself in her native Netherlands – several of her songs have been on rotation on the airwaves. And in some way, it shouldn’t be surprising that her sound has been popular there, and will likely be as popular Stateside, as her sound (as she describes it) is a “more accessible Feist and a slightly poppier Fleet Foxes …”

“Stepping Stone,” which is the opening track on her latest album, (Songs From The) Sandbox uses gently chiming glockenspiel, with a slight dub feel and Rose’s lovely and kind of ethereal vocals. It’s a gorgeous and summery sort of song that reminds me a little bit of Wild Belle, oddly enough.
