The London-UK based singer/songwriter James Mathé writes, records and performs under the moniker Barbarossa. With the release of his 2008 debut, Chemical Campfires helped him earn the reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting, new troubadours. In fact, his reputation helped him land a spot, backing Jose Gonzales in Junip. “Turbine” is the latest single off his forthcoming album, Bloodlines, which will see an August 8th release, and it bears a similarity to Junip’s work as it has a subtle, haunting beauty and a deceptive simplicity; however, “Turbine” has a psychedelic funk underpinning it.

You can catch him at his two NYC area dates – June 20th at Mercury Lounge and June 21st at Glasslands
