The now-New York-based band Haerts has members who originally hailed from Germany, the UK and the US. Their first single, “Wings” produced by St. Lucia’s Jean-Philip Grobler, actually has his sonic stamp all over it – it’s a slickly produced synth pop ballad that not only sounds quite a bit like St. Lucia’s material, it also sounds as though it could have been released in 1984, thanks in part to vocalist NinI Fabi’s beguiling and utterly arresting vocals. Much like how St. Lucia had a huge year with the release of both their self-titled EP, the September EP, and a remix album, I think that you’ll be hearing quite a lot from them this summer. With that in mind, check out the official video.
