I recently came across this live footage of one of Nashville, TN’s finest soul groups (and one of my own personal favorites), Derobert and the Half-Truths performing at Asheville, NC’s RiverMusic Festival earlier this month.

There are quite a number of highlights during the 92 minute set including a rather lively version of “I Got Burned,” with an incredible sax solo; an always prescient version of “Fallin’ in Debt” which owes a debt to the great James Brown; an extended version of one of my favorite tracks, “Too Busy” with some great solos by each member of the incredibly talented Half-Truths. The live footage will give you a sense of how great these guys are live – plus, Derobert Adams is an incredible frontman with a silky smooth voice.
