Public Service Broadcasting’s debut effort Inform – Educate – Entertain was released to critical praise from the likes of Time Out London, Mojo and GQ when the album was released in their native UK a few months ago. Aesthetically the band, which is essentially the duo of J. Willgoose, Esq. and Wrigglesworth, meshes angular power chords and stomping drums with repurposed sounds from the British Film Institute, StudioCanal and old American public service announcements, among others. Check out “Signal 30” which may remind you a little bit of Interpol and White Zombie/Rob Zombie but with more extensive use of samples throughout.
The band has gotten attention across Europe and the UK for their sound and their live shows which include some really interesting audiovisual footage. You can check the band playing “Signal 30” live in London, and it’ll give you a great sense of their live shows.
