During the holiday season NPR Music invited the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band to perform as part of their Tiny Desk Concert Series, and although the holidays have passed, the performance is so much fun that it was worth posting. Obviously, they play a Christmas-related song – “Happy Holidays” but the three other songs they play “Sugar Plum,” “I Think I Love You” and “Dear Lord” appear on the band’s latest album, That’s It, an album that finds the band playing original compositions for the first time in their history.

This is the sort of video and performance kind of makes me wish that there was a law that said at least once or twice a week that a New Orleans brass band should come to your office and play for an hour or two. It’ll make the day better.
