Released back in September through ATO Records, Essential Tremors put the trio of vocalist/guitarist Billy Gordon, vocalist/bassist Logan Davis and drummer Steve Colmus, better known as J. Roddy Walston and the Business on the national map, thanks to a sound which manages to be reminiscent of bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Thin Lizzy, T. Rex, and even the Black Keys – swampy and sleazy Southern rock with big, seemingly simple power chords. And holy shit, is “Heavy Bells,” the latest single off their latest album is just fun to listen to as loud as humanly possible.

have developed a sound that manages to bear elements of swampy, sweaty and deep fried Southern rock and punk rock. in particular, “Black Light” has a bit of a boogie-woogie sound that’s kind of reminiscent of T. Rex — think “Bang a Gong” or “20th Century Boy” and you’ll know what I mean.
