Shriek, the fourth and latest album from the Baltimore, MD-based duo Wye Oak has the band going through a decided change of sonic direction from their previously recorded efforts, which were primarily focused around lead vocalist Jenn Wasner’s guitar playing. Instead, Wasner wrote the material that comprises Shriek on bass while Andy Stack layered synths and drums. Obviously, as you’ll hear on “Glory,” the first single off the album, the material possesses a clean, studio polish while never losing sight of a direct emotion, and a sinuous, seductive funk.

The official video employs quite a bit of stop action editing to create some of the most surreal and oddest imagery you’ll come across in a music video for some time.
