Released by her new label, Sacred Bones Records earlier this year, July,  Marissa Nadler‘s sixth full-length album was recorded in Avast Studios in Seattle. The album marks Nadler’s first time working with producer Randall Dunn (who has worked with the likes of EarthSunn O)))Wolves in the Throne Room and others), and the result is some of the most haunting and spectral material I’ve heard in some time – the material is sparsely arranged and consists of Nadler’s gorgeous vocals (which remind me quite a bit of Kate Bush), finger picked acoustic guitar, as you’ll hear on the album’s latest single “Firecrackers.” Much like the previously released single, “Firecrackers,” the single has a hushed, wintry feel that belies the summery title.

The official video is shot in a grainy black and white that evokes old-time movies with a nostalgia that seems to come up with every passing sumer.
