As a blogger, the fact that I receive emails from PR firms, band managers, artists and labels from all over the world is something I admittedly enjoy. There’s something about serendipitously discovering something cool and then telling the world about it that seems – well, right. So I recently received an email from the Toronto-area based trio of Waterbodies. And their latest single “What the French Call Les Incompetents,” is a noisy bit of angular post-punk/post-rock that reminds me of several contemporary acts including Louisville, KY’s Wax Fang, and Incubus thanks to the use of turntables throughout; however, there’s much more of badass swagger to the song
