As I’ve mentioned countless times before, I receive a lot of emails from a variety of music-related folks across the world these days, and many of those emails put me on to some really great stuff. I recently heard from an Argentine producer and DJ, Gabriel Conti, who interestingly enough follows JOVM and has been a faithful fan of the site for a bit.

Influenced by Flying Lotus and DJ Rashad, Conti recently remixed Donald Byrd’s “Stepping Into Tomorrow” in a similar fashion – in other words, Conti’s remix, simply titled “Tomorrow” manages to retain the breezy, tropical feel of the original while adding heavier, drum ‘n’ bass-styled percussion, along with a subtle layer of skittering percussion and a glitchy use of a looped sample to create a dizzying, trippy feel.
