Each of the members of the Asheville, NC-based quartet of River Whyless – Ryan O’Keefe (guitars, vocals), Halli Anderson (violin, vocals), Alex McWalters (drums, percussion and Daniel Shearin (bass, vocals, harmonium, cello, harp) – have played together in a different bands for quite some time before forming River Whiyless. With three members of the band being songwriters, the band specializes in a familiar sound – an indie folk sound that sounds old-timey; as though it was recorded in the 1920s as much as it was recorded now.

In celebration of the holiday season, the Asheville, NC-based quartet recorded this stunningly gorgeous and ethereal version of the old Christmas standard, “Jingle Bells."

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate. And Happy Holidays to all. May there be at me in our lifetimes when all are viewed as equal, living peacefully in brotherhood and sisterhood.
