In the previous post, I talked at length about the Helsinki, Finland-based no wave/free jazz/punk/whatever-the-fuck-it-is-they-playing quintet Can Can Heads. “Breakdiscodance” off the band’s latest effort, Butter Life continues the band’s reputation creating a sound that’s often difficult to pigeonhole. In particular, this song has elements of abrasive metal and free jazz. As I was listening to the song I immediately thought: “this sounds a lot like if Slayer and The Mike Dillon Band decided to collaborate and create some of the strangest, most hellish music and most awesome thing I’ve ever heard."
Jazz you can headbang too? Absolutely!
