Comprised of Cooper Gillespie (vocals, bass) and Greg Gordon (drums and sequencers), the Los Angeles-based duo of Ultra Violent Rays claim influences such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and Portishead, and as you’ll hear on the duo’s latest single “The Voyeur” those influences are evident in the song’s sinuous baseline and ominous yet dream-like feel, as though the song would dissipate before your eyes; however, “The Voyeur” is an incredibly seductive song, thanks in part to Gillespie’s come hither-like coo – but just under the surface there’s a sense of gnawing regret.

Interestingly, the release of “The Voyeur” comes in advance of the duo’s West Coast tour, which has them stopping in Oakland, CA; Tacoma, WA; Olympia, WA; Seattle, WA;  Sacramento, CA; and several other cities.
