Indie electro pop singer/songwriter Tei Shi first captured the attention of the blogosphere with the release of her debut EP, Saudade. And as a result, her sophomore EP, Verde, which is slated for an April 14 release through Mermaid Avenue Records is much-anticipated. “Go Slow,” the EP’s latest single pairs Tei Shi’s breathily seductive coos with layers of cascading synths, skittering percussion and swirling electronics; in some way, Tei Shi’s latest single reminds me quite a bit of the likes of Phoebe Ryan, Chelsea Lankes and others – each vocalist manages to convey both a youthful brashness and confidence with an underlying vulnerability and uncertainty within a turn of a phrase.
