Live Concert Photography: Bowllive 6: Erik Deutsch and the Jazz Messengers, The Shady Horns, Soulive, and George Porter, Jr.
March 20, 2015
It’s been a very busy few weeks in the JOVM world but it’s all for a good purpose – bringing you great music, live photography and more. Last month, Soulive was at Brooklyn Bowl for their 6th annual Bowlive residency – and it may arguably be the Super Bowl for locally-based jam bands, as well as providing proof that the trio may also arguably be one of the best, contemporary live acts in the country. Of course, the highlight of their residency is catching Soulive play with an eclectic bunch of guests, with this year probably being strongest lineup ever, as they had sets with Charles Bradley, Chris Robinson, Aaron Neville, George Porter. Jr. and Marco Benevento. And I can tell you that their sets with Charles Bradley, Chris Robinson and George Porter, Jr. were legendary – yes, that’s how incredibly good they were.
