Comprised of sibling Jake Scarpino (guitar and vocals) and Sam Scarpino (drums and vocals), the Boston, MA-based duo The Winter Brave have been writing, recording and playing together since 2007; however, they quickly received both national and international attention when Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl mentioned the band during a 2013 “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session on Reddit.com.  And as a result, the duo’s material on Soundcloud received over 350,000 plays, their Metaphors EP became one of Bandcamp’s best-selling albums, and they received attention from major blogs and publications such as Diffuser, The Undiscovered, Music Times and others. Adding to a growing national and international profile, the Boston-based sibling duo earned a top 10 spot in the “Top 100 of the Jansport Sonicbids Battle of the Bands.”

“As You Once Were,” the latest single off the band’s forthcoming The Hand You Never Seem to Lend EP consists of the sort of swaggering arena-friendly power chords and thundering drumming that channel both Foo Fighters and (perhaps even more closely) The Black Keys, complete with the sort of infectiously catchy hooks you can envision 20,000 ticket holders shouting along.
