Comprised of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, the British electronic music production and artist duo, Basement Jaxx have had a remarkably successful career since their formation back in 1994. The duo have had several singles appear in popular commercial campaigns and TV shows across the US and their native UK, as well as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider soundtrack – but perhaps more impressive, the duo of Buxton and Ratcliffe are multi-nominated and multi-Grammy winning artists, including winning the inaugural Best Electronic/Best Dance Album back in 2004. And most recently, the act received a Grammy nomination for “Never Say Never,” a single that dominated the Billboard charts last summer.
Interestingly, this summer will mark the first time in some time that Basement Jaxx will be performing live – the first shows in the US since their Ultra Music Festival appearance last year, and the first shows anyplace else since 2006. And their brief US tour includes the following stops:
Friday June 26 : San Francisco, Public Works
Saturday June 27 : Denver, Beta Nightclub
Sunday 28 : Los Angeles, The Hollywood Bowl
Tuesday June 30 : Washington DC, 9:30 Club
Wednesday July 1 : New York, Central Park Summerstage
To give fans a taste of what their live show is like, the group released this live footage of their massive (and ridiculously fun) hit “Where’s Your Head At” at the 2013 Kendal Calling Festival.
