North Carolina-based emcee Fluent first came to national attention with the release of Retro Future, an album that reportedly revealed his artistic diversity as the material on the album featured old school, boom bap, club-friendly and radio friendly songs and featured guests like Royce da 5′9,″ SpaceGhostPurrp, Median, El Da Sensei, Kaze, Jozeemo, and a lengthy list of producers including 9th Wonder, who has worked with Jay Z, Little Brother, Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller; Khrysis, who has worked with Sean Price, Evidence, Jean Grae; J. Cardim, who has worked with Lil’ Wayne, Akon and Wale; and the Polish production duo The Returners, who have worked with El Da Sensei.

With Fluent’s soon-to-be released full-length Supreme Victory 2, the North Carolina-based emcee looks poised to see his profile nationally. Produced by, J. Cardim, album single “Cash in a Duffle Bag” features Fluent and French Montana spitting over layers of menacing synth stabs, room rocking 808-styled beats and a glitchy vocal sample on the hook. At the end of the day, the song is about something many of us can understand – the never-ending hustle.
