Comprised of Flynn Cock (drums), Kerley Cock (bass) and Murphy Cock (guitar), the Brisbane, Australia-based trio Bottlecock describe their sound on their Facebook Fan Page as “Big, loud, noisy, thrusty rock.” And as a result of that big, loud, noisy, thrusty sound the trio have started to receive attention in their hometown; in fact, their debut single “Girt by Dickheads” which will appear on the band’s debut effort Record received regular airplay on community radio 4ZZZ – at one point, the track landed at number 1 on the station’s weekly charts and landed a top ten position on the station’s audience-voted Top last year.

Naturally with the release of Record, the Brisbane, Australia-based trio hope to expand their profile both nationally and internationally – and from “Girt by Dickheads,” I suspect that will happen pretty soon, as the song is comprised of guitar chords that sound as though they were repeatedly dipped in acid, screeching feedback, throbbing yet propulsive bass and thundering drums paired with chanted vocals. Listening to the song reminds me of quite a bit of Incesticide-era Nirvana and of L7 fueled on whiskey and PCP. And if it doesn’t make you jump into a mosh pit right this second, there’s something deeply wrong with you.
