New Audio: Lennart Richter’s Modern Reworking of Duran Duran’s “Girls on Film”

With the release of his first single at the end of 2012, the Berlin, Germany-based producer, electronic music artist and DJ Lennart Richter quickly established a reputation as an up-and-coming electronic music artist, producer and DJ as he released a number of singles running the gamut of electronic music genres from deep house, g house and nu disco on labels such as Sleazy G, East Project, G-Mafia Records, GUN PWDR, Ensis Records, Blue Dye, Mondal Recordings and others. Adding to a growing profile in his native Germany and internationally, Richter has a couple of Beatport Top 25 releases under his belt and his latest EP, Berlin Brawling landed at #10 on the Beatport Indie Dance/Nu Disco Charts.

His latest single is a a slick remix/reworking of Duran Duran‘s classic “Girls on Film” which retains the song’s vocal hook but instead wraps it around a percussive and tribal drum beat and layers of slowly cascading, shimmering synths, and as a result, Lennart’s reworking gives the song a sleek, clean, Cascine Records treatment; in other words it’s a subtle yet modern reworking that feels effortless.
