New Video: Chris Rivers and Termanology’s Fiery “Ain’t No Half Steppin'”-Inspired Freestyle

Over the course of the five years that I’ve run this site, I’ve actually written about Chris Rivers a handful of times. Originally performing under the moniker Baby Pun, Rivers began tiring of the constant musical comparisons to his legendary father, Big Pun — although he did manage to follow his father’s footsteps in terms of pursuing music. Wanting to set off on his own path, he dropped the Baby Pun moniker and decided to write and record under his own name a couple of years ago. Over that period of time, Rivers has rapidly developed a local and national reputation for being a hard-hitting emcee with a ridiculous flow. Recently Rivers has released a series of freestyle collaborations; in fact, if you’ve been frequenting here you might recall that I wrote about Rivers teaming up with Sheek Louch on “I Got It Made (Freestyle),” a freestyle, which had the duo rhyming over a sample from Special Ed‘s beloved classic “I Got It Made.”

His newest freestyle “Ain’t No Half  Steppin'” features Termanology and features the two emcees spitting fiery bars over a sample from Big Daddy Kane’s classic “Ain’t No Half Steppin.” And much like “I Got It Made (Freestyle),” this latest freestyle is just ridiculous.

. And in that time, Rivers has quickly developed a local and national reputation for being one of contemporary hip-hop’s hardest hitting emcees. Recently, Rivers teamed up with Sheek Louch on “I Got It Made (Freestyle)” which features the emcees spitting fire over Special Ed‘s classic and beloved “I Got It Made.” Simply put, the song is fucking fire.
