2Square and Antipop of French electronica act Telepopmusik, along with vocalist Angela McCluskey released their debut effort, Genetic World over a decade ago — at the height of the French downtempo electronica movement, which included acts such as AirLes Rythmes Digitales and others. “Breathe,” the group’s best known song internationally was also a Grammy nominated track.

It’s been quite some time since Telepopmusik released anything; however, both 2Square and Antipop were holed up in the studio writing, recording and putting the finishing touches on their third full-length album, which is slated for a 2014 release. But as a teaser to the full-length release, the duo released a 2 song EP/remix bundle “Fever/Try Me Anyway.” Both tracks will appear on Telepopmusik’s forthcoming effort, and they feature  Betty Black, a.k.a. Sylvia Gordon of KUDU fame. “Fever,” has Gordon seductively cooing the songs lyrics over sparse, minimalist beats and shimmering synths that feel much like like a feverish chill. Interestingly, Gordon’s lyrics describe a familiar sensation — comparing the lingering presence of a former lover, as a fever that you wish you can just sweat out. Much like “Try Me Anyway,” there’s a urgent and plaintive sense of need at the heart of the song.

Recently the group released two videos for “Fever.” The second video is much more salacious and has a somewhat perverse voyeuristic feel as it captures a number of young women at their most intimate, most unguarded moments. And yes, it is a NSFW y’all.
