Consisting of the Texas-born Paige McClain Wood and the Silver Lake, CA-born Steven Trezevant Dies, the Peach Kings have publicly claimed that their influences include Nancy Sinatra, Roy Orbison, Led Zeppelin and the Cramps. Interestingly, “Hold On,” the first single off the duo’s forthcoming EP, Mojo Thunder sounds as though it owes a bit of a debt to trip hop thanks to moody, swirling electronics, buzzing bass, boom gap drums and McClain Wood’s smokily seductive vocals (which also gives the song a bit of a bluesy, swampy feel).
