During a live Bonnaroo set, the Connecticut-based trio the Stepkids really impressed the folks Spin. In fact, they were listed as part of their “10 Best Things They Saw on Thursday” – and I imagine it had to do in part to a jazz fusion sound reminiscent of Steely Dan even down to the harmonies of the vocalists, but with slight elements of hip hop and funk. You’ll hear it in the DJ scratching and samples at the very beginning of the song.
