Favorite Photos of 2018
2018 was a rather interesting year for me both professionally and personally. As I mentioned at some point on this site, I lost a day job that I had been working at over the course of the past two-and-half years and while there’s the big financial concerns, it has been a blessing. In terms of this site, I photographed an amazing array of contemporary and legendary artists and bands including Nile Rodgers, The Flaming Lips, Blondie, Liz Phair, Taj Mahal, The Blind Boys of Alabama, North Mississippi All Stars, Hot Snakes, The Afghan Whigs, Built to Spill, The Wood Brothers, Nicki Bluhm, The Posies, Low, St. Lucia, Brandi Carlile, Action Bronson, Slowdive, The Last Poets, The Kills, Joe Bataan, Ecstatic Vision, Monster Magnet, Big Data, Atmosphere, Vince Staples, The Black Angels and a shit ton of others.
Brandi Carlile shared a photo I had up on Instagram, and it received well over 9,000 likes — including Pete Souza. Yes, that Pete Souza.
I’ve also had a photo of the incredible Tal National published in Premier Guitar Magazine.
I turn 40 this year and I’m hoping that even bigger and better things are in store; it’s a milestone year after all! But in the meantime, I wanted to show some of my favorite photos of 2018 — and from some incredible shows, to boot. Check it out below.
