Glow and Behold, the London-based Yuck’s sophomore album was critically well-received. And while playing sold out venues across the US and in their native London, the band stopped in the studio to record an EP of new material, Southern Skies which is slated for release later this spring.

“Athena,” the first single from the new EP has the band taking on a new sonic direction as their sound has become much more lush, layered and nuanced. In some way, the track reminds me a bit of Mogwai’Earth Division and Remember Remember‘s The Quickening. In other words, material that possesses a quiet, subtle beauty.

You can catch the band live, as they’re embarking on a Stateside tour that will have the band stopping in some of the following cities: Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Kansas City, MO; Atlanta, GA; Asheville, NC; Chapel Hill, NC; Washington; DC and a February 15th stop at the Bowery Ballroom
