If you follow this site often, you would remember that I’ve written about an extremely prolific producer and DJ by the name of Rhythm Scholar. And in honor of the 45th anniversary of the release of the Beatles Abbey Road, one of the great rock albums to ever be released, Rhythm Scholar recently released a hazily psychedelic and funky remix of “Come Together” that has Paul’s vocals gliding over swirling electronics and samples from the likes of James Brown, Donna Summer, George Benson, Led Zeppelin and others. Bearing a resemblance to The Beastie Boys infamous and legendary sonic experiment, Paul’s Boutique, the remix is a sonic delight as it’s difficult to discern where and how the samples come about; it evokes the dimly familiar and the alien while revealing Scholar’s incredible production skills.
