If you’ve been following JOVM for quite some time, you may be familiar with the Miami, FL-based pop artist Brika, who has received quite a bit of attention across the blogosphere for an electro pop-based sound that at times has owed a debt to trip-hop and jazz. 

Her latest single “Moon” is arguably, the most interesting single I’ve heard from her to date as it features Brika’s smoky and soulful vocals over minimalist, sparse beats, fluttering and cascading synths, brief bursts of guitar and at the hook Brika’s voice fed through vocoder. The track is eerily atmospheric in a way that resembles Beacon’s fantastic work but with a sensuality that bellies it’s initially icy feel.
