Live Concert Photography: Coney Island Music Festival 8/4/18 feat. The Veldt The Garden Shannon Shaw Juan Waters and Public Practice
Presented by The Alliance for Coney Island with partnership with Modern Sky USA, Greenwood Beach and NYCDOT’s Weekend Walks Program, the second annual Coney Island Music Festival took place on a steamy August afternoon. Featuring 12 up-and-coming, mostly local artists playing on two stages — the main stage on Stilwell Avenue, the second at the Coney Art Walls — the festival presented live music in front of one of the city’s most unique and beloved backdrops, Coney Island’s rollercoasters and boardwalk amusements.
Unfortunately, I didn’t catch everyone but I did manage to catch a wide variety of acts that included JOVM mainstays The Veldt, The Garden, Shannon and the Clams‘ Shannon Shaw, Juan Wauters (who I only caught very briefly) and Public Practice. Check out some photos from the afternoon below.
