Niagara, is the Turin, Italy-based collaborative, experimental pop project of producers and electronic music artists David Tomat and Gabriele Ottino. And as Niagara, the duo have a reputation for creating an off-kilter sound that employs elements of electronic dance music, psychedelia, and Eastern music, as well as for work that’s very conceptually driven. On their sophomore effort, Don’t Take it Personally, the album is reportedly about the ongoing struggle to balance our desire to develop and exploit technology against the need to make technology more sympathetic to nature. 

“Currybox,” the latest single (and video) off the album is a breezy, hypnotic, trance-like track that manages to possess a bit of menace just under the surface – as though the technological advances we covet and desire can (and perhaps will) turn against us.
