orange gold red is a collaboration between Andrew Gregory and Kate Copeland, two long lost cousins. For Gregory, who’s been a member of Tubetops, orange gold red is his first solo project and it showcases his background in electronic music, as the production employs the use of vintage synthesizers, field recordings, old drum machines, coffee cans, jars and a beaten up Fender Stratocaster. On their latest singles “Ink” and “Figure Eights,” you hear a dreamy, ethereal electro pop which focuses on Gregory’s ruminations. Copeland’s vocals add a breezy tone to the proceedings – it feels like a gorgeous summer day, really.
