The Seattle, WA-based singer/songwriter Star Anna has received praise from the likes of Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Guns ‘n’ Roses and Velvet Revolver’s Duff McKagan, and after you hear her voice on “Go to Hell,” the album title track on her forthcoming release, Go to Hell (which Spark and Shine Records released back in September), you’ll see why: her voice possess an uncanny similarity to the likes of AdeleAlice Russell and others — it’s soulful and smoky quality.

“Go to Hell,” the album title track and first single off the album was inspired by a rather dark period in the singer/songwriter’s life. That song, much like the rest of the album deals primarily with betrayal, regret – and ultimately, hope. The latest single (and video) “For Anyone,” displays Star Anna’s ability to capture what could easily be the most innermost, unguarded thoughts of her narrators.
