Walter Sickert and the ARmy of BRoken TOys have developed a reputation for their live shows being spectacles – they’re often highly theatrical with dancers and other performers, and it works with their sound as it mixes the old time blues with art rock, and other genres. When I first heard “Devils In The Details,” the first single off the band’s forthcoming album Soft Time Traveller, i immediately thought of Johnny Cash’s “God Is Gonna Cut You Down,” off American Highways V: A Hundred Highways.

They’re a part of an impressive and diverse lineup at the NXNE Festival in Toronto this year and based on the description of their live sets, i think they’ll be written about quite a bit by the bloggers up in Toronto to cover them.
