“One By One” is the latest single from New York-based quartet herMajesty, and much like their previously released singles and their Images from the Vanishing Night EP, the track possesses a bittersweet air. But with the addition of a trumpet-like clarion that adds a regal air. The addition of a children’s chorus was inspired by “the idea that we are all struggling to come to grips with the promise of our youth and the reality of adulthood while maintaining a connection to the life affirming energy and sense of wonder of those early years,” as principle songwriter JP says. It suggests a band that’s trying to gently expand their sound while trying to be accessible. 

The track will appear on the band’s forthcoming EP but will be available through iTunes and other digital channels on January 20th, coinciding with a single release show at Rockwood Music Hall on the same day.
