Last week, a dear friend and music industry pal was in town with his wife and daughter. After stopping at 18th Ward Brewing for the New Colossus Festival’s Summer Saturdays and some thrift shopping, we wound up stopping at The Queens Night Market in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

The Queens Night Market is a large family-friendly open-air nigh market, right by The New York Hall of Science that features up to 100 independent vendors selling merchandise, art and food, as well as small-scale culture performances. The entire experience celebrates the rich cultural diversity and heritage of NYC — and most importantly of Queens, arguably one of the most diverse places in the entire world.

I was glad to take my friends. They got to see a little bit of my home borough and the New York that has long influenced me and my writing.

Of course, because I had my camera gear, I took some photos of some typical Queens Night Market scenes, and course, the star of the show, the food.
