New Audio: JOVM Mainstay LutchamaK Shares Hard-Hitting Banger “Great Broken Masses of Land”

Wildly prolific French electronic music producer and JOVM mainstay LutchamaK has had a busy 2024:

The JOVM mainstay began the year with a two-track release through Techno Parade titled Job Done, which featured “Job Done,” a glitchy and swaggering bit of techno meets footwork featuring machine gun-like skittering beats, glistening synth arpeggios paired with tweeter and woofer rattling thump. It’s an accessible and euphoric club banger meant to be played loudly and meant to encourage you to dance and sweat.

He followed that up with Flip the Funk, a four-track EP, which was digitally released through British electronic label Biotech Recordings and featured EP track “Pride,” a lush and soulful bit of deep house-meets-techno that reminded me of house music nights on WBLS back in the day.

There was “Acid Drift” a slick, seamless synthesis of tribal house, deep house and drum ‘n’ bass that slaps hard while being dance floor friendly, which was released through Rue des Trois Rois Records.

Continuing a remarkably prolific period, the French producer and JOVM mainstay recently released the eight-track mini album Great Broken Masses of Land through his own TERMusik. “The whole thing is more dance floor than sofa listening,” LutchamaK explains.

The album’s opening track, album title track “Great Broken Masses of Land” is trance-inducing, late night, club banger anchored around skittering tweeter and woofer rattling thump and dense layers of oscillating yet melodic synths, a chopped up mantra-like vocal sample paired with his unerring knack for incredibly catchy hooks.

New Audio: LutchamaK Shares a Mellow, Tech House Banger

Throughout this site’s 13-plus year history, there have only been a handful of artists I’ve written about more than the wildly prolific French electronic music producer and JOVM mainstay LutchamaK. 2023 has seen the French JOVM mainstay continuing to be as prolific as ever:

  • Earlier this year, he released the five-track EP Zirconium, which featured material that oscillated between several different styles and genres, including tech house, breakbeats and more.
  • LutchamaK followed up with the seven-song EP Let The Drums Go, which featured material that frequently meshed elements of tech house, breakbeats and electro pop.

The other day, the prolific French electronic music producer released the seven-song mini album Cross My Heart, which features one tech house track and mostly downtempo material. The mini-album’s latest single “Pillow Talk,” its the mini-album’s only tech house track. At points, the song nods at Trans Europe Express-like minimalism before quickly morphing into a house music banger that pairs relentless tweeter and woofer rattling thump with glistening and bubbling synths, bursts of skittering hi-hat, chopped up vocal samples and the JOVM mainstay’s penchant for enormous hooks. It may arguably be one of the more mellow-leaning yet crowd pleasing tracks that LutchamaK has released to date.

There have only been a handful of artists I’ve personally written about more than the wildly prolific, French electronic music producer and JOVM mainstay LutchamaK.  The French producer and JOVM mainstay continued his well-earned reputation for being prolific: Earlier this year, he released the five-track EP Zirconium, which featured material that oscillated between different modes and genres, including tech house, breakbeats and more.

The JOVM mainstay’s latest EP, the recently released seven-song Let The Drums Go sees the French producer crafting material that meshes elements of tech house, breakbeats and electro pop among others. And if you’ve been frequenting this site, you might recall that last week I wrote about “Funk U Want,” a fun, swaggering banger that pairs old school house with contemporary production and an infectious hook that recalls Out of the Black-era Boys Noize.

The EP’s latest single “Soulsonic” sees the JOVM mainstay meshing elements of industrial, house and Kraftwerk-like minimalist techno paired with skittering beats, tweeter and woofer rattling thump and LutchamaK’s unerring knack for euphoria-inducing hooks.

New Audio: LutchamaK Shares a Hypnotic Banger

There are only a handful of artists I’ve written about more than the wildly prolific, French electronic music producer and JOVM LutchamaK

Capping off a busy year, the French JOVM mainstay recently released the 10-song album Younger than Yesterday through TERMusik. LutchamaK describes the album as “tech house atmospheric, minimalist techno sprinkled with some breaks.”

Yesterday, I wrote about album track “I Believe in U,” a melodic and hypnotic, house music banger that sonically seemed to be a crowd-pleasing synthesis of Between Two Selves-era Octo Octa and Chicago house.

“Higher Amplitude,” Younger Than Yesterday‘s latest single continues a remarkable run of hypnotic and woozy deep house but with subtle elements of drum ‘n’ bass, French touch and dub.

Over the past couple of years of this site’s almost 13 — 13! — year history, I’ve managed to spill a copious amount of virtual ink covering the wildly prolific, French electronic music producer and JOVM mainstay LutchamaK

Over the past couple of years, I’ve managed to spill quite a bit of virtual ink covering the prolific French electronic music producer and JOVM mainstay LutchamaK

Continuing upon his long-held reputation for being prolific, LutchamaK began the year with the Bitrate Scale_rmx EP, which featured remixes of Threshold album single “Bitrate Scale” by three artists, who liked his work and wanted to create their own takes.

He followed that up with the five-song TERMusik, which featured the slickly produced Tour de France and Computerworld-era Kraftwerk-like deep house banger “100 Miles.

Since then, the French JOVM mainstay has remained busy: He followed the release of those two previously mentioned EPs with the 12 song album way up the path, which featured some of the most eclectic material of his growing catalog to date — with the album’s songs featuring elements electro pop, techno, synth wave, breakbeats and others.

Adding to a rapidly growing catalog, the French JOVM mainstay recently released the four-song X project EP. As LutchamaK tells me, the EP sees him crafting tech house bangers specifically for the dance floor. X project‘s first single, the swaggering “X (version 2.0)” continues a remarkable run of bangers. Drawing from 90s Acid House, the track is centered around tweeter and woofer rocking thump, glistening synth arpeggios and enormous hooks paired with a looped spoken word mantra.

  • DNMK‘s deep house-leaning take on “Bitrate Scale” that features a brooding, murkier air than the original
  • Haalleyck‘s trippy and cosmic take on “Bitrate Scale” centered around thumping kick and glistening and oscillating synths that feels more like a complete rework of the original
  • Darbinyan‘s uptempo, deep house take on “Bitrate Scale” centered around oscillating synths, skittering, tweeter and woofer rattling beats, glistening synth arpeggios, robotic vocodered vocals D euphoria-inducing hooks
  • LutchamaK also contributed his own murky and brooding remix of “Bitrale Scale” that retained the thumping kick of the original but while pairing it with oscillation synths and vocodored vocals

Over the past couple of years of this site’s almost 12 year history, I’ve managed to spill quite a bit of virtual ink covering the prolific French electronic music producer and JOVM mainstay LutchamaK.

New Audio: Calyman and LutchamaK Team up on the Brooding “Just an Old Song”

Calyman is a French singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, whose career started back in the 90s. And over the course of the past three decades, Calyman has written and recorded material that has touched upon rock, pop, trip hop, contemporary jazz and world music — but over the past decade or so, he has primarily worked in electronic music, with electronic duo 20 Mille.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve managed to spill quite a bit of virtual ink covering the ridiculously prolific French JOVM mainstay and electronic music producer LutchamaK.  LutchamaK has dabbled and experimented in an increasing variety of sub-genres and styles within electronic music with an effortless aplomb.

Calyman and LutchamaK have recently teamed up in a new recording project that the pair have dubbed CalymaK, which features Calyman on bass keys and vocals and LutchamaK contributing programming, percussion and production. The duo’s latest single “Just An Old Song” is a brooding bit of Peter Gabriel-like electro pop featuring a sinuous bass line, industrial clang and clatter, glistening synths and Calyman’s plaintive vocals. Interestingly, “Just An Old Song” may arguably be the most accessible yet forward-thinking bit of work the duo have worked on to date.
