Australian electro-pop indie pop quintet Gold Fields will be releasing their debut effort, Black Sun February 26th here in the States and March 8th in their native Australia.  And the band will be on a month-long North American tour, which includes an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on February 27th, and more importantly for my fellow New Yorkers, February 6th at the Bowery Ballroom. 

In the meantime, Diamond Rings, who was on tour with Gold Fields in Australia, created this impressive remix of their lead single, “Dark Again.” The remix reminds me quite a bit of Substance: 1987-era New Order – perhaps “Bizarre Love Triangle” and Cut Copy. It’s a slick pop confection that I haven’t gotten out of my head since it was sent to me.
