If you’ve been following JOVM for the past year or so, you may have come across a couple of posts on the Buffalo, NY-based band Made Violent. The members of the band – Joe White (bass), Justin Acee (drums) and Rob Romano (guitar) – have played together in a number of bands, including Made Violent for quite some time. Over the past year or so, the band won the attention of the blogosphere for a sound that was compared to the likes of the Strokes, Personally, I think their sound was closer to a sadly unheralded act, The Cummies, who also had a unfettered, primal sound, although Made Violent’s sound manages to be a bit more radio friendly.  The band’s latest single “On My Own” continues the band’s burgeoning reputation for crafting scuzzy rock ‘n’ roll with huge, anthemic hooks and choruses.
