Comprised of Noelle Tannen (vocals, keys), Andrew Cowie (baritone sax, tenor sax), Ash Russell (trumpet), Zach Cohen (guitar), Derek Rusinek (bass) and Andrew Marshall (drums), the New York-based sextet Noelle and the Filthy No-Nos have developed a reputation for a sound that draws from soul, jazz and rock in a way that alternates from child-like innocence, ragged aggressiveness and sultry seductiveness within a turn of a phrase. I recently caught the local sextet at Rockwood Music Hall last Saturday as they played the late night set. Check out photos from the show below.
