
Today is Mother’s Day. I’ve been blessed to know a lot of moms, grandmas, godmothers and bonus moms throughout my life. And I wanted to wish all of those wonderful mothers a very Happy Mother’s Day!
As many of y’all know, back in 2020 my mom was diagnosed with uterine cancer, a few months before COVID-19 struck havoc across the globe. Unless it’s life saving, all procedures are considered elective — including those for cancer. And during the earliest days of the pandemic, all of her scheduled treatments, including a hysterectomy, chemotherapy and radiation were indefinitely delayed until we could get the pandemic in check as much as possible. Thankfully, that May and June she was able to get those treatments. Since then, she’s been in great health. So as always, I hope for continued good health for her.. I’d like to have her around as long as possible.
Happy Mother’s Day, mom! I wouldn’t be who I was without you.
I also know quite a few people, who are grieving the loss of their mothers. Today is a difficult day — one of many difficult days. And I’m thinking of them. I hope that their mothers memories are a blessing, and that they remember that they’re a reflection of their mom in sone way or another,
