North Carolina-based band Airstrip was formed when their frontman, Matthew Park’s previous band Veelee broke up. Park then enlisted members from Horseback, Monsonia, Caltrop and Gross Ghost to help him craft a sound that he describes as “nightmare pop.” In 2012 the band toured across the Southeast, landed a spot in Raleigh, NC’s Hopscotch Festival, and they opened for Godspeed You Black Emperor, before heading to the studio to record their full-length debut, Willing which will see a February 5th release from Holidays for Quince Records

“Pleasure Center” is the album opener, and it sounds a lot like a sludgier, grittier version of Interpol’s “Slow Hands” – but with a menacing, fucked up edge.
