Originally conceived as an imaginary band, Eternal Lips is the pop-based music project of Brooklyn-based musician and artists Grey Gerstein. Lyrically and sonically, the project was meant as a way for Gerstein to explore the conventions and mystical aspects of pop music – in an honest  fashion without irony.

Interestingly Gerstein, has been a part of NYC’s experimental music scene having worked with the likes of John Zorn, Michael Hurley, and TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone, and naturally those experiences and working relationships influence Gerstein’s songwriting – although in a seemingly subtle, indirect fashion.

“Dream Hesitate,” is the first single off Gerstein’s forthcoming EP as Eternal Lips. Featuring Sharon Van Etten on vocals, the track is a bit of ethereal electro pop that feels a bit like a pleasantly waking dream that will dissipate before your eyes.
