53rd Annual Village Halloween Parade: Since obtaining my first press card in 2023, It’s been an manual tradition to head to West Village to cover the Village Halloween Parade. To me, it’s a mix of the creativity, humor and ingenuity you’d come across during the Mermaid Parade and the riotousness and politically charged messages of Pride. You’ll share a good laugh and in the next moment, be reminded that you need to vote. And you’ll see some dogs in cute costume, too. (Only fascists don’t want to see dogs in cute costumes.)

So, some quick selfies with several thousand of my neighbors hanging out in front of the IFC Center — it’s still The Waverly to me, and while marching with several undead folks, cartoon characters and more.

I walked a little under 4.5 miles. And now I have tons of photos to edit. I’m behind, too. But it was worth it.
