While at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park covering SummerStage, I looked up and caught a couple of airplanes ascending and banking right after takeoff from nearby LaGuardia Airport

Last year was a blur of planes, trains, places, hotel rooms, departure and arrival screens, old and new friends. It was an epic way to mark a milestone year. This year, however, has been a bitterly difficult, frustrating and deeply disappointing year. From my experience, there’s an always a year or two here and there where things are especially trying: For me, it was 16, 26, 32, 40 and now 46. I found a way to survive, even if I couldn’t figure it out. (Sometimes that’s all you can do.)

Long story made a little bit shorter: Those who really know me, know that I’m a restless, wandering soul. I miss the road, the rushing from place to place, the hours looking out of train, plane and car windows , lost in thought . . .
